1. Mahindra E Xuv 300 Electric

Before any government subsidies were available, Mahindra was one of India’s first manufacturers to develop an electric vehicle. With a battery range of 120 kilometres, the Mahindra e2o was the company’s first electric vehicle.

Mahindra’s XUV 300 is one of the popular SUV cars in India . As a result, introducing the XUV 300 electric car to India would be a huge step forward. Mahindra is currently developing three electric SUVs for India, including the eKUV 100, eXUV 300, and a Mahindra-badged electric version of the Ford Aspire. The eXUV 300, which will have a range of 350-400 kilometres, will be available in 2021. The eXUV’s battery capacity is unknown. However, it could be in the range of 40 kWh because a similar-sized SUV, the Hyundai Kona, has a 39.2 kWh battery. 

2. Wagon R Electric

Maruti Suzuki is continuously on the cutting edge of technology. Its plans to deliver the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R electric car in the future, most likely in 2022, demonstrate this. The business is currently working on the Wagon R electric vehicle. The automobile was seen testing multiple times in the Delhi-NCR region’s Gurgaon neighbourhood.

4. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Electric

This is another electric car from Mahindra on the list of upcoming electric cars in India.   At the Auto Expo 2020, the Indian automaker revealed the price of its future electric vehicle, the eKUV100. Mahindra has stated that its soon-to-be-released offering will cost Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

A 40-kilowatt electric motor will power the vehicle, producing 53 horsepower and 120 Nm of peak torque. A single-speed transmission will most likely send power to the front wheels of the four-wheeler. The car will be able to go 120 kilometres on a single charge.

6. Ford/Mahindra Aspire Electric

The electric version of the Ford Aspire with a Mahindra nameplate is an upcoming electric automobile from Ford and Mahindra’s joint venture. Ford partnered with Mahindra to cut costs in emerging areas like India and make its cars more affordable. Both businesses are currently developing a mid-size SUV for India.

According to a recent source, the forthcoming Ford Aspire electric car would be a full-size sedan rather than the sub-compact SUV that is now offered in India. The 4.2-meter Ford Aspire sedan is now produced in India. However, it is exported to nations such as South Africa. A group of Auto Journalists recently evaluated a mule of the forthcoming Aspire electric car. The vehicle in question used the same 72V battery technology as the Mahindra e-Verito electric vehicle.

The Ford Aspire EV is likely to have a battery pack with a capacity of 25 kWh and a power output of 81.5 BHP. The battery range of the Aspire electric car is expected to be 150 kilometres. However, Mahindra hopes for at least 200 kilometres in the final production model. Due to several recent government subsidies to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles, the Ford Aspire upcoming electric Sedan will be priced under Rs 15 lakh.

7. Renault Zoe

This electric vehicle from Renault is already on the market in other countries. The Renault Zoe is a plug-in hybrid hatchback that ranges 390 kilometres on a single charge. With the new updates, this car now comes with many new design features. The Renault Zoe electric vehicle has a 52-kilowatt-hour battery that allows 50-kilowatt-hour DC fast charging. As a result, the car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in less than ten seconds and reaches a top speed of 140 km/h.

In India, the Renault Zoe is still awaiting the announcement. However, Renault India CEO Venkatram Mamillapalle recently confirmed the company’s plans to bring an electric SUV based on the Triber platform to India and another electric vehicle. According to the company’s CEO, both of these vehicles will be available by 2022.

8. Audi e-Tron

According to the luxury carmaker, the Audi e-Tron and e-Tron Sport back will be launched in India in 2021. In addition, Audi will introduce a new electric vehicle in India. In both of these models, two electric motors with a total output of 355 horsepower and 561 Nm are present. The car has a range of 452 kilometres on a single charge. However, There’s one most striking aspect of this four-wheeler. Audi E-Tron’s powerful 95 kWh battery pack gets full in just eight and a half hours using a conventional charger.

9. Mercedes-Benz EQS

Unveiled last month, the automobile was placed on Mercedes-official Benz’s India website, giving Indian purchasers hope for the car’s arrival in the country. The Mercedes-Benz EQS will be available in two models: the EQS 450+ and the EQS 580 4MATIC.

10. Porsche Taycan

The much-anticipated Porsche Mission E Concept is going to be Porsche’s next electrical vehicle. The elegant four-wheeler would house two synchronous electric motors with a maximum output of 600 horsepower. Above all,  the eagerly anticipated vehicle will have a range of nearly 500 kilometres per charge. 11. Volvo XC40 Recharge

The deliveries are going to commence in October 2021 for the Volvo XC40 Recharge. As a result, the car will reach the Indian car market as a completely assembled unit (CBU), with a dual-motor engine and 150 kW electric motors on each axle.  Similarly, it will have a peak torque of 660 Nm and a power output of 402 horsepower. 12. Tesla Model 3

Tesla’s first electric vehicle will be available in India. The company’s India headquarters will be in Mumbai, with manufacturing taking place in Karnataka. The highly anticipated four-wheeler Tesla Model 3 can travel up to 500 kilometres on a single charge and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds.
