Citroen C5 Aircross is a compact crossover SUV that Citroen has manufactured since 2017. At the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, the Citroen Aircross concept car made its debut.

The production version was officially unveiled for the Chinese market at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. Sales started in China in the fall of 2017. The model debuted in Europe at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, and sales started at the end of the year.

The C5 Aircross began production in France in 2018 at the PSA plant in Rennes. The model takes advantage of Groupe PSA’s 100-million-euro investment stake.

In early 2021, Citroen will introduce an India-spec C5 Aircross in the Indian market.

Citroen C5 Aircross Cons

  1. For the passengers above 6 ft. or above, the legroom is not adequate
  2. No AWD
  3. Missing turbo-petrol engine
  4. No fun to drive
  5. Missing ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera is also missing
  6. No 3rd-row passenger seats as some of the competitors are offering the same
  7. After-sales service can be an issue as the company is new with fewer showrooms

Heads turned everywhere we went in this car. People wanted to know what brand and product this was. What is the cost of this car? We replied to a few and missed a few others. I assume this is where the car is parked.

The positioning is important because the brand isn’t known for being a luxury car manufacturer or a logo with a clear vintage car connection. Citroen must start from scratch and price aggressively in this already crowded market.

Much smaller than the statistics that have been circulating the internet. If that happens, the C5 Aircross, a smart, funky urban SUV, has the potential to change the Indian urban landscape.
