Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was first introduced to us back in 2016. After that, many major and minor modifications took place, and now BS-VI has become a standard edition. This car got its latest makeover only last year. Vitara Brezza is essentially a sub-compact SUV targeted towards the millennial generation and rivals many of its contemporaries, such as Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra NuvoSport, Ford EcoSport, and Kia Sonet. Brezza ground clearance is one that deserves special mention. It has many attributes of the premium sedans and, at the same time, aces in the field of budget cars.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza 2022 – Price, Specs, Ground Clearance & Mileage

At First Glance

It’s impressive! We have known Brezza till now as diesel-powered; the 2020 re-launch changed the whole scenario, switching to petrol engines altogether. Makeover-wise, the facelift last year did not radically change its DNA. Some might even be disappointed. But still, Brezza has managed to capture our attention. Why so? Let’s find out…

The 2020 Brezza has the essentials sorted out neatly. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza’s ground clearance is definitely worth mentioning, which is stated below. To name a few, these would be a luxurious and spacious cabin, smooth petrol engine, and ease of driving. The diesel engine that lacked in power, with the latest iterations, Suzuki has made up for it with interest. The petrol engine, however, has limited Brezza’s cross-city reach; because on highways, this engine lacks the necessary power of ever-increasing acceleration.

The exclusion of the sunroof is a definite downside. Also, airbags could have been properly placed because the sides are now vulnerable. But as the price remains well within the ballpark of the common man, opting for the LXi trims is highly advisable since they focus more on safety measures. Brezza ground clearance, since one of the segment-best, occupies a defining place in the list of attributes. Vitara Brezza, although at the end of its lifespan, still has a lot to offer if one’s demands are well within its capabilities.

Price Of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza comes at a price amount of 7.31 lakhs INR, and it can go as high as 11.19 lakhs INR (both ex-showroom prices). Here, only the base and top variant prices are given, so Vitara Brezza, as per one’s demands and requirements, is a worthy purchase under 10 lakhs INR.

Available Variants

Currently, four trims options (LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi+) are in the market, and 9 variants are in circulation. Namely, the LXi is the base model, whereas ZXi+ AT Dual-Tone is the top model. Manual gearbox is standardized in all the variants, but if one opts for the automatic transmission, only the VXi trim features that. And after the latest facelift in 2020, Maruti Suzuki has made certain that many upper-echelon features are incorporated in the lower versions. Both the LXi and ZXi models are grand successes as premium budget cars. However, the LXi model offers the best value for money, as multiple safety features come with it.

Engine & Performance Of Maruti Suzuki Vitara BrezzaEngine performance of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

The new-generation Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.5 liter 1462 cc petrol engine, like Ertiga and Ciaz. Providing 19 kmpl of mileage at peak condition, Brezza’s engine, aside from being super smooth, can pump 105 PS power & 138 Nm torque. The mileage, although, slightly fluctuates as per the Automatic/Manual variants; the same with power output. The vibrations are kept to a minimum, and the most you’ll notice is the hum of the engine while running. Clutch functions are smooth, & you can easily roam around city limits in 2nd gear. The speed limit of 80-100 kph is a cakewalk for it. Since Brezza is optimally used within the confines of a city, traffic jams will be its constant companion. And to efficiently use the fuel stock, Maruti has implemented SHVS mild-hybrid tech that automatically turns the car off when stuck.

Ride and Handling

Comfort may well be the middle name of Vitara Brezza. Suspensions are worked upon, owing to which the majority of the bumps are insulated. And when combined with the silent motor engine, the ride is nothing less than perfect. Suzuki has given this due credit to reworked suspensions and tires. Steering and turning corners are well within your area of comprehension. Brezza ground clearance is one such feature that further makes the driving experience memorable.

Interior

Save the fabric upholstery, Brezza’s interior remains almost the same. Because honestly, the cabin space had already been worked to perfection in the previous models. The dashboard consists of only the essentials, a feat that totally digresses from Brezza’s contemporaries. Gloveboxes, door bottle holders are well within reach of both the driver and the one riding shotgun. Hard plastic covers most of the interior, insulating and protecting it all the same. The seats, however, are majorly appreciated. They are well padded, cushioned with enough rook to lean backward. The steering wheel itself is adjustable, much like the driver’s seat. Since it is a 5-seater crossover, the rear portion can readily inhabit three people with enough legroom and headspace for each. Boot space is also noteworthy (328 liters).

Exterior

Since the outlook does not divert much from the previous-generation Vitara Brezza, one cannot at first look to differentiate between them. To name a few numbers –

Length: 3955 mm

Width: 1750 mm

Height: 1640 mm

Wheelbase: 2500 mm

The front is appealing, to say at least, due to dual-barrel LED headlights with LED DRLs and fog lamps as a cherry on top. The chrome grilles are attractive as well. The faux skid played and front/rear bumpers have been slightly tweaked. The automatic variant sports a hybrid badge like a medal of honor. 16 inches of alloy wheels and 198 mm ground clearance are definite pluses. LED taillights are another defining feature of the new-generation Brezza, one through which you can identify the old from the new. By now, it has been firmly established that Brezza ground clearance is one of the highlighting features of Maruti Brezza.

Features that are highly desirable, but only limited to the top models, are auto-dimming IRVM and an auto-retracting ORVM, furthering the appeal of Brezza’s interior. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the 6-speaker music system are notable plus points. Additionally, it has front and rear power windows and central locking as an added measure.

SafetySafety features in Vitara Brezza

What has become standard? Those would be ABS with EBD, child seating, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, high speed, and seatbelt alert, whereas hill-hold assist remains exclusive to automatic models.

PROs

Petrol engine begets hassle-free performance.

The riding experience is comfortable. No bumps and potholes can cause disruption.

An actual family car, 5 -seater and with sufficient storage and cabin space

CONs

The 4-speed gearbox feels somewhat outdated.

Lags in performance in highways and inclines

Safety features are not properly distributed to lower versions.

Final Take:

All in all, Vitara Brezza remains the best low-maintenance SUV car. One can customize Brezza favorably as the dealerships are all over India, and suffice to say, Brezza is highly compatible with user modifications. The whole package it offers rarely comes with any other model across brands.
